2 Campaign Advertisements

Image
2 Campaign Advertisements This print based advert was created by WWF warning people about the dangers of climate change. They do not include writing, hyperboles or any kind of statistics in order to let the audience focus solely on the image and what it represents. This is quite rare for a print based campaign advert as it is not trying to be persuasive through the use of emotive language. It is a pretty hard selling campaign as it uses a moving and slightly distressing image to convey its point. The image is of a penguin appearing as if it is melting symbolising the effects of the melting of the polar ice caps. The background is red symbolising blood and death. At the bottom right corner they have their logo notifying the audience of who made the campaign poster and to go through them to find out more information. This moving picture advert was made by the Telegraph as a way of informing people about the effect that second hand smoke has on their children. It consists...

Kendrick Lamar's "Humble"

Image
Kendrick Lamar's "Humble" The Humble music video is a combination of the performance and thematic style of music video. It has themes of realism, naturalism and humility. There is a lot of religious imagery including Kendrick Lamar as the first shot as the pope. He also uses the last supper as a form of iconography for being humble. It is also arguable that when Kendrick is seen later on in the video with the men in suit. he's at a church congregation of some kind. The message of the song is clearly shown in the music video. He says that he is "sick and tired of all the photoshop". What you see in the video slightly parodies skincare advertisements with the before and after themes. However what is different is he shows the woman with the makeup on first before showing her looking natural giving the impression that he believes that being natural is better. What is noticeable as well is that when Kendrick goes through the split screen his appearance...

Different perspectives on the Aftermath of Snap Election

Different perspectives on the Aftermath of Snap Election The two newspapers that I will be comparing and contrasting is 'The Sun' and 'The Guardian'. In particular their coverage on Teresa May's response to her failed Snap Election. Whilst 'The Sun' is predominantly right-wing and 'The Guardian' is predominantly left-wing, they take different approaches to handle the situation that are against their political views.  Their headlines both consist of quotes from May herself. The Guardian tells us that she has "no regrets" about her decision making her sound strong-willed and motivated. Whilst not agreeing with her points, they accepted them and treated her as if she knew what he was doing. The Sun however mocks her and makes her sound as if she is begging the country for forgiveness. They announce that she " pleads with Sun readers to allow her to stay in Downing Street in order to make Brexit happen. The image that is accom...
