Overview of BBC Radio Stations BBC Radio One : Created for young people. Plays tracks and artists that are current in the charts. There are regular DJs on there who talk to the audience and also interview artists. They have a breakfast show hosted by Nick Grimshaw that involves a lot of speech. Every week there is a chart show showcasing the most popular music of the week. BBC Radio 1XTRA: Created for young people particularly teenagers and young adults. Plays current music. Plays a lot of grime. Has a popular segment called 'Fire in the Booth' hosted by Charlie Sloth where rappers can freestyle to a beat. Some comedians got their big breaks on this. These include Big Shaq and Roll Safe (R.S). BBC Radio Two: Their target audience is probably middle-aged when listening to it.
